Eduardo Kac  (pronounced "Katz"), born in 1962, has been a pioneer of digital art and is internationally recognized for his telepresence and Bio Art. Today he works in a number of media including Bio Art. Always pushing the window for what art can be, Kac has received many awards including the Golden Nica Award, the most prestigious award in the field of media arts and the highest prize awarded by Ars Electronica. This was in recognition of his work in Hybrid Art, specifically the Natural History of the Enigma.
